Noteworthy Utilises blockchain in various forms – for provenance, audit, transactions etc

Idea: Carbon Farming Collective exists to serve our members with advice and support for undertaking successful carbon farming and other environmental projects. As a service provider operating ‘for producers, by producers’, we support members to deliver more productive and profitable projects. We deliver services that improve small-scale profitability for carbon farmers.

Strengths

(i) strength over traditional market – transparency, grow the pie, new investment, greater participation, ease of transitioning to supply chain solution,
(ii) strength over other blockchain solutions – again, ease of supply chain solution, our tokenomics allows for valuation of co-benniftis, not all carbon is created equally, increased benefits for undertaking action, control of contribution allows farmers to realise market value of assets,
(iii) strengths over other solutions to green asset development – free market economics gives the best outcome for both producer and purchaser – market efficiencies, market evolution, price finding mechanism, also the strengths driven by transparency and data.

Hurdles: This idea is at concept stage and so there is a need to create a Proof of Concept, business model and structure.

What they need:

  • Prototype Design
  • Money
  • Advice

What is the Accelerator Program?

Beginning on the 4th of February and running for 8-weeks is the first Accelerator Program being run for creating new member-owned organisations.

There are already many incubators for investor-owned companies and even some incubators for social enterprises, but this is the first incubator run to assist the creation of new member-owned businesses.

The incubation process takes an idea – or Project – through 4-stages: Forming, Organising, Funding and Operating.

A project is improved upon at each stage with the direct assistance of the membership of Incubator Co-operative.  For example a Project might need a website and they will agree a deferred-payment arrangement with a web designer who is also a member of incubator.coop.

Not all projects will offer deferred-payment arrangements, some will pay directly for work, some will ask for a freebie and some will offer the equivalent type of sweat-for-equity arrangement that a startup might provide.

Incubator.coop provides the ‘ecosystem’ that allows members to assist Projects through the critically important early stages of formation, planning, launching and compliance of member-owned organisations.
